Happy Thursday -- almost to the weekend!
I am about to take off on a little road trip for a girls weekend back "home" (aka Michigan). I am SO excited to see my mom, my grandma, and rosie (the pretty puppy!).
I also added some other goodies so that I can still have my favorite breakfasts/snacks while I'm there. Just because you're away from home doesn't mean you have to completely abandon your routine!
Snack Pack Revealed...
1) St-RAW-berries :) My fave!
2) (In the tupperware) Turkey and Laughing Cow Light Cheese Sandwich on Whole Wheat Bread with Dijon Mustard (for lunch).
3) Lemon Bar & Blueberry Muffin (excited to try this kind for the first time!) LARABARs.
4) Quaker's Weight Control Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal (for the mornings).
5) I am also TRYING these packets of Justin's (what a name!) almond butter in my oatmeal. I am especially intrigued by the chocolate flavored pack ;) Here's to hoping they don't taste like straight tree bark!
6) To stay hydrated in the dry car -- Vita Coco Coconut Water (with a pink straw, for fun, and to avoid the spillage) + a full CamelBak!!
{What's that? You want a CamelBak too? Enter my giveaway by commenting on a post or becoming a follower before next Wednesday, and you could get your own for FREE!}
7) My latest purchase from lululemon...no, just kidding, it's my makeshift lunch box, since I left my real one somewhere in Chicago like a GOOF (not surprising, I tend to lose all things like this, like water bottles, umbrellas, I could go on...I'm working on it!).
And, at the last minute, I decided to add...
A couple of Dove caramel-filled chocolates -- for the inevitable chocolate craving! Clearly, I can cross hand model off the list of potential future careers.
So hopefully this will all keep me satisfied on the trip there and back!
Well, I better get a move on. We're going out for sushi tonight, and I am supppper PUMPED. Spicy tuna roll here I come! :)
Don't forget to comment and/or start following for the giveaway, ya'll!!!
**Comment Idea: What are your favorite "healthy" road trip snacks??**
Have a great day and I will see you tomorrow, from Michigan, for freaky Friday (yay!).
xoxo
Jess
Have so much fun this weekend Jess! For "healthy" road trip snacks, I like to pack baby carrots and cucumbers to dip into some Sabra hummus! Get your veggies in!!
ReplyDeleteI have a new addiction to Special K chips! They have sea salt and sour cream and onion and both are very tasty and low in calories! Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteWhen my Dad and I travel together we always have a box of Frosted Mini-Wheats, bite size of course. They are filling, not messy, and delicious.
ReplyDelete#1. I now rep Justin's Nut Butters- so let me know if you like them :) They sell very well!
ReplyDelete#2. you should NOT be drinking Vita Coco- you SHOULD be drinking Zico (I use to be a O.N.E. fan and I still am...shhh...) but I rep Zico now. Actaully, you should go to Whole Foods of a GNC and pick up O.N.E. ACTIVE. That stuff ROCKS! It's a coconut water sport drink and is PERFECT to take to a work out class (I have 4 cases at home)
#3. Try the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip LaraBar- it's AWESOME! (I use to rep those too... now I have CLIFF bars, I'll let you know how I feel about those after I get some samples :) )
I have some more goodies I'm going to be trying out... I'll let you know how it goes :)
All great ideas guys! I might have to stop and pick some of these up for the ride home :)
ReplyDeleteI have seen Zico at the store Christina so I will have to try that one next! I still love O.N.E. too! I'll definitely have to pick up that flavor of larabar soon that sounds AMAZING! I smell a guest post coming soon... :)
Jess! I just stumbled onto your blog...LOVE IT!! If anyone is going to get me motivated to run again, it'll be you. I have many 6 hour drives under my belt from going between Cleveland and Btown, and i found the best thing for me to snack on is a fresh bag of grapes. I keep them in a little lunchbox cooler in my passenger seat, and they are refreshing and easy to snack on the whole ride. I also always keep a nalgene of water and a bag of those quaker chips (for a little something salty!)
ReplyDeleteI just tried coconut water for the first time this weekend and it was pretty good. I got it from Whole Foods but I'm not sure what brand it was. For a quick snack I'm a fan of those individually wrapped Laughing Cow chesses
